Fermentation of liquid organic fertilizer in fermentor

Liquid fermentation is the most important fermentation mode in the fermentation industry. It can be divided into the following categories according to different ways of material and product in and out:
1. Batch fermentation
Batch fermentation means that in the fertilizer production process, all materials (except air, defoamer, acid and alkali for pH adjustment) are added into the fermentation tank once, then sterilized, inoculated and cultured, and finally the contents of the whole tank are released. That is, a feeding, a vaccination, a harvest of fermentation.
2. Continuous fermentation
Continuous fermentation is based on the principle of continuous culture of microorganisms, which adopts the method of constant turbidity continuous culture, that is to put fresh medium into the fermentation tank regularly and quantitatively, and collect the same amount of fermentation liquid containing bacteria at the same time. Better economic benefits can be obtained by keeping the growth of bacteria in the fermentation tank in a relatively stable period.

3. Fed batch fermentation
It is also called semi batch culture or semi continuous culture, commonly known as "flow adding", which is a special culture mode between batch fermentation and continuous fermentation. It is a mode of operation that one or more specific restricted substrates are fed intermittently or continuously to the fermentation tank during the batch culture of microorganisms, and the culture liquid is collected once after fermentation.
The application of fed batch fermentation is an epoch-making progress in fertilizer production technology. This method not only has the advantages of batch fermentation and continuous culture, but also overcomes their disadvantages. Compared with batch culture, fed batch fermentation can keep the substrate concentration at a low level, and release or reduce the inhibition and repression of substrate and products. Compared with continuous culture, it will not produce strain variation, material pollution and other problems, and has a wider application range.
